Serving approximately 1,000 students in three separate but integrated divisions, Forsyth Country Day School was established in 1970 to offer families an independent, nonsectarian, coeducational alternative prep schools for children from Jr. Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12. Forsyth is distinctive for its small size, the growing diversity of faculty and students, the high quality of its teachers and facilities, a caring and nurturing environment, and the strength of its curriculum. The school's goal for each student is always the same: to provide significant experiences that will begin a lifelong process of discovery leading to a richly rewarding and happy life.

Forsyth Country Day School offers a challenging college preparatory curriculum that readies students for the most competitive colleges in the nation while enriching their lives with a rich tapestry of arts, athletic, social and leadership opportunities. Class sizes are very small throughout the school, ranging from 13.2 to just under 16 students per class, which allows the school to maintain enviable teacher/studio ratios and to deliver its curriculum in a caring, nurturing environment that promotes not only academic success, but character development, a commitment to serving others, and a sense of responsibility.
Students are drawn from eleven counties, including such communities as Winston-Salem, Clemmons, Lewisville, High Point, Statesville, Lexington, Mt. Airy, and Kernersville. Our campus is sheltered on a beautifully wooded 85 acres surrounding a lake that serves as both an outdoor classroom and a contemplative gathering spot. The campus also includes the Williams Library Discovery Center; the Pike Math and Science Center; the Lowrey Lower School; the John A Danforth Middle School; the Middle and Upper School Dining Hall; the Brown Lower School Dining Hall; the Johnson Academic Center, the Childress Activities Center; and auditorium; the Tierney Gymnasium and fitness center; the Nancy K. Rea Soccer Stadium and field hockey fields; the Lower School playground; the Smith Athletic Complex, which includes the Furr Field House, the Smith Tennis Center, and Smith Field; Sutton Softball Field; the Dew Coordinate Center; an art loft; the Livengood Center; a state-of-the art track facility, and a weight room/field house.
Forsyth Country Day School - we are now in the fourth decade as private schools serving families with children from grades pre-kindergarten through high school. The school opened its doors in 1970 on the outskirts of Winston Salem, NC but today class work and after school activities all take place on the 70 acre campus just 10 minutes from the city's downtown. Time has been good to Forsyth Country Day. Our grounds and facilities now rival the best private schools in the country but we take even more pride in the principles and beliefs developed during our founding years in more modest surroundings, as well as the people that make up the school today. Both then and now, Forsyth Country Day is committed to helping students achieve their full potential.
Proudly serving the greater Winston-Salem, NC area! We're one of the leading schools in town. Visit us today.
